It's been One year and Four months!

Everything was working well till December 2019. The first wave arrived in January 2020 and India was under strict lockdown from March. Since then it has been one whole year and four months. It is July 2021 now. While the whole world was enjoying a short time period of no masks, the third wave disrupted it all. No more football, cricket, tennis, in fact any sport! Even the Tokyo Olympics have been suspended for a while. A tiny microscopic organism, which is not even visible to naked eye, caused such a huge damage. Getting quarantine from the whole world was our only option.

It has been quite some time since the pandemic caused a major effect, killing millions of people, but we are not entirely resistant to it. The virus as well as our vaccines are developing, providing new updates for the users and checking the effects on guinea pigs like us! Both the teams have the same target, the virus is developing to kill us and the vaccine is trying hard to prevent it from happening. We may never know what might happen if both worked together for the same cause and target!

While both the teams suite up, people like us need to follow the same pattern we have been following for one whole year; wear mask, sanitize and stay away from people. This was working perfectly last year, nowadays, I think people have started assuming they are completely immune! Dip them in a pool filled with those tiny viruses and they will come out as shinny as a new pin! The more they disobey, the more they die. In every country, where people do not follow the rules, the cases and deaths have increased incredibly. Even higher then last year! Unless all of us (yes, all of us, no one is excused) follow, we'd still be stuck.

The situation is such that I am beginning to miss school! The premises, the classroom, the school ground and obviously my physical friends, not the ones who are online (even though they are the same)! Although, there were gadgets to keep up us accompanied, our brain can release dopamine only for some time, and even the eyes cannot tolerate the extreme radiation of those brightly lit screens!

I could have never imagined a world where you couldn't step out of your own house. And now, after a slight decrease in the effect of the pandemic, the world is an ant hill. The ants living can only step out to quickly get the life essentials and come back inside before the predators catch hold and if you are caught, you are on your own, for no one will follow you to your fate!
