A Series of Unfortunate Events

It all started when my sister's exam server suddenly disconnected and all the students were just sitting in front of a, frozen, black screen. After a couple of hours when the exam was already over, a quote saying, "Your exam time is over!" was displayed on the screen and without further discussion, the college had to reschedule the test.

This frustrating incident gave rise to the incredibly irritating and annoying day of  my life.

At lunch, as I was serving myself, I put three filled cups to one side of the plate without evenly balancing it. While I held my plate in one hand, unfortunately the weaker one, I danced around with a scoop full of vegetables and just for a split second the plate titled fifty degrees, slipped from my oily hands, pulling the gravitational force along with it, loudly smashed onto the floor breaking into a million pieces. The glass was scattered on the floor, some going far under the dinning table just to make my work even worse.

At six in the evening when I usually change my clothes to go out to play, today I decided to clown my way into the closet (of course, not on purpose!). With a phone in hand and a T-shirt in another, I jumped and tried wear it. After an unsuccessful try, I kept my phone on the edge of the drawer, and just as I was getting my hands down, I smacked my right one on the phone, flipped it, screen facing down, to the ground and it smashed on the floor to spread and scatter more glass (as if I hadn't broken glass today!). Knowing that I wouldn't be able to get another one, I quickly cleaned up the mess reported the incident to my father and decided to use it as it was.

To get away from today's incidents, I immediately went out to play. But to my notice, every match I played, our team lost, even against the weaker teams! Nobody blamed me, but inside my heart, I knew that I was the curse they all were facing.

Did it stop? Nope, there were still five hours for the day to end, the devil was going to enjoy as much as he wanted because tomorrow I would be as good as new! (hopefully)

I had my Mathematics class at eight, so after the horrible "exercise" I showered and cleaned up to get ready for the class. As I opened my laptop and signed into my account, instead of seeing what I usually do, I just saw a blank black screen. I panicked, only five more minutes for my class and I couldn't even get into my account! I checked other accounts on the same laptop to see if it was the same scenario but to my surprise, they were working absolutely well. Being in the IT sector, I asked my father to check if he could debug the issue to solve the problem but even he wasn't able to get past the black screen! He said that some pointers to start the program might be missing and so I wouldn't be able to open the account until the CPU finds them. I texted my teacher and asked if she could reschedule today's class and for once in the day, something good happened, she readily agreed! The problem was still to be solved, I googled to find any solution, but the only one present was to reset the laptop, that would destroy everything, even the important data! So, finally I decided to open another account with the same email and as the data was on the same device, I was able to recover the files (well, not everything).

I was finally convinced that this day, wasn't supposed to be mine. Tired and irritated, I hopped onto my bed to sleep but alas (what did I expect!) I just couldn't, I tried to read and even took sleeping pills to shut my eyes but nothing worked. But finally, as time passed my eyes exhausted and slowly drifted off into nothingness.

Sometimes, it's hard not to believe in superstitions, even though I know they are not true, I often think, "Is some one in control of your days?"
